Perhaps one reason I dread webapp work is that I dislike doing things one way when I know a better way exists. In webapp work there can be a lot of code duplication, especially in the jsp's. And the compile-edit-run cycle takes minutes, compared to seconds when developing thick-client apps. Perhaps I would be more enthusiastic about rich client frameworks like Laszlo, thinlets, or Flash ... ?
