[Programming] Nano/Pico Text Editor

For occasional editing of remote files, Nano/Pico is actually not too shabby. I like the syntax coloring, the modelessness (unlike vi), and the always-visible help at the bottom:

Now, for larger editing tasks, I like to pull out my big guns. ∎

  1. I also like jEdit (your 'big guns').

Another editor that I'm using more of is Komodo Edit. Have you used it?

It can be set up for emacs or vi editing. Like jEdit, it's free and it's cross platform.

  2. Hi Carlos,

I’ve tried Komodo only briefly—thought it was quite good. I hear raves about it all the time.
