But you can do almost as well by taking a 4x6 index card and applying a border with a felt marker. Just lay a sheet of paper beside the edge of the card (to make a clean border edge), find a marker with the desired color, and fill in the border.
Tip I learned from a design drawing class: start your marker 'off-page' to avoid the saturated points where you paused for half a second (which is usually when you start a line. Same trick you did to mask off the area with a piece of paper: just mask off up to the start of the line, and start your maker well on that mask then just glide onto the printable area.
